Nebuchadnezzar Wines Ltd was founded organically out of an obsessive passion for drinking and collecting fine wine. We have been collecting great wines for a number of years and have now accumulated a cellar to rival many London merchants. The key to Nebuchadnezzar wines is passion followed closely by low margins and great service.

Matthew Oakley

A Professional footballer for 13 years. Matthew has spent the major part of his career with Southampton Football Club, and is now the vice-captain of Leicester City. An England International at Under 21 level, he has now made nearly four hundred appearances at club level.

Barry Skarin

Barry’s love of fine wine came from Switzerland where he went as a commis sommelier to work the season in a hotel and was given the job of opening the bottles of some of France’s greatest wines.

After returning to London in the early nineties to become the Head Sommelier at the 1 star Michelin Canteen for Marco Pierre White and Michael Caine, he soon progressed through the ranks to become wine buyer for the Group.

Then a move to work for Ian Schrager Hotels as Food & Beverage Director was another eye opener which lead him to open his first restaurant, The Greyhound at Stockbridge, which achieved 1 star Michelin.

Barry has been buying en Primeur since 1995 and has developed some great relationships within the industry, both here and overseas.

Paul Jones

Paul has joined Nebuchadnezzar Wines having spent the past 4 years in the fine wine industry. Time spent in Spain instilled a love of wine in him and after gaining sales experience in a FTSE 100 company, he decided to turn his hobby into his career.

Beginning his time in the wine trade at Fine & Rare Wines, Paul has since worked at Bibendum Wine and Farr Vintners . He has worked on both the private client and trade sides of the fine wine business and also has experience in wine broking.
